CAUTION:

The SC session of the disk subsystem will be terminated automatically when offline replacement of a
microcode which requires PS OFF and PS ON, or PS ON after the battery has discharged (volatile PS ON)
is performed while XRC for Mainframe is operating. The session of the SDM side of the secondary site will
be suspended by the termination, however the RESUME operation may fail. Therefore, perform the following
operation:

When performing an offline microcode replacement, delete all XRC for Mainframe pairs by XDELPAIR
command before PS OFF, and then create all pairs again by XADDPAIR command after PS ON.

When performing volatile PS ON, delete all XRC for Mainframe pairs by XDELPAIR command
immediately after PS ON, and then create all pairs again by XADDPAIR command.

CAUTION:

Do not execute resume operation for XRC for Mainframe pairs in the following condition, when the sidefile
of the XRC for Mainframe pairs still exists in the cache because it may cause a timeout error.

When pair volumes are suspended by XSUSPEND TSO command.

When pair volumes are suspended by failure of some sort.

When executing resume operation for XRC for Mainframe pairs under the above condition, check that the
sidefile of the pairs do not exist in the cache, before executing the operation.

CAUTION:

Timeout error (ANTX5124W message) and SDM stall (ANTIX5150E message) may occur if delete operation
of pairs is executed when large number of sidefiles of pair exists on the cache. When the above-mentioned
error occurs, SDM pair status of host software is deleted but session may remain on DKC in some cases.
Therefore, check whether the session is remaining by LISTSESS command. If the session is remaining,
terminate the session by TERMSESS command.

CAUTION:

In XRC for Mainframe, WRITE PACING function is not supported when the DKC emulation type is 3990-6
and 3990-6E. Therefore, an error will occur with ANTA5107E message (RC=4130) when WRITE PACING
operation is executed using XADDPAIR command to a pair that the DKC emulation type is 3990-6 and
3990-6E.
SDM pair status will be deleted but session may remain on DKC in such cases. Therefore, check whether
the session is remaining by LISTSESS command. If the session is remaining, terminate the session by
TERMSESS command.
