Using XRC for Mainframe in Conjunction with Other Copy
Solutions

XRC for Mainframe supports concurrent operations with other copy functions. The following table
shows whether this product can share volumes with other copy functions or not.

session, but it can be used as a P-VOL in another session.

M-VOL that time stamp is enabled, at the same time.

*3 When the XRC for Mainframe P-VOL and the ShadowImage z/OS M-VOL are the same volume,
you cannot use the Reverse Copy and Quick Restore commands of ShadowImage z/OS.

Using Two XRC for Mainframe Pairs in Conjunction

By using two XRC for Mainframe pairs in conjunction, you can maintain three copies of data between
secondary sites for disaster recovery purposes.

The following figure shows the configuration in which two XRC for Mainframe operations are performed.
In this configuration, data is copied from the primary site to the first secondary site using XRC for
Mainframe, and then it is copied from the first secondary site to the second one using XRC for
Mainframe.
