5.2.4 WEP
The WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) is an encryption method that encrypts the data
transferred wirelessly between devices to prevent unauthorized users from intercepting or
invading the wireless network. WEP security, based on RC4 data encryption technology,
provides data confidentiality, integrity, and authentication for wireless communications.
Security Mode: Select the corresponding security mode from the drop-down menu.
The Open option is more secure and is preferred over the Shared method.
WEP Key1~4: Set the WEP keys using either ASCII or Hex format. ASCII codes use
5 or 13 ASCII characters (illegal characters such as "/" are not allowed). Hex keys
use 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters (0-9 and A-F).
Default Key: Select one of the four preset keys to use as the current default one.
