Windows will recognize each individual cable as a different device, and
reserve a new COM port. Remember to use the correct port in the
settings of your terminal program.

There is no reason to uninstall the driver for normal use. However, if
you wish to remove the driver files and all Vaisala USB cable devices,
you can do so by uninstalling the entry for Vaisala USB Instrument
Driver
from the Add or Remove Programs (Programs and Features
in Windows Vista) in the Windows Control Panel.

User Port Connection

The user port of the PTB330 is used by the connection to the MI70
indicator. For this connection, the user port is wired to the 8-pin M12
connector on the table casing. The serial line communication settings
are also preconfigured for the MI70 indicator; see table below.

SMODE is the startup operating mode for the serial line. In PTB330TS,
the default SMODE for the user port is TS, which is a special mode
intended only for use with the MI70 indicator. See section

SMODE on

page 75

.

If you change the user port communication settings, the interoperability
between the MI70 indicator and the PTB330 will be broken. Because of
this, it is recommended that you only use the service port for all serial
line communication, and reserve the user port for MI70 indicator.

However, you can use the user port if you need to, as long as you
remember to restore the default settings so that the MI70 indicator will
work again. See section

User Port Serial Settings on page 74

.
