7) Press SELECT. The LCD will display the currently programmed 1st Idle Hotel

Message. If it has not yet been programmed the LCD will display:

Directly below the LCD, under the faceplate and hard plastic overlay are three keys,
CHAR, NEXT and ERASE, used to program characters into the display memory. See
diagram for their exact locations.

8) Press the CHAR button to choose the first character location. Continue pressing CHAR

to change the character. Press the ERASE key to erase the character and start again. If
ERASE is pressed right after NEXT was pressed, the cursor will backup one space and
erase the previously selected character.

Note: The 1st location will be a blank <space> location. See Appendix B for the com-
plete character set.

9) Press the NEXT button to accept the displayed character. The cursor will move to the

next location. Repeat steps 8 and 9 to add more characters to the message. When the
first fifteen (15) characters have been selected, they will be replaced by the next fifteen
blank spaces.

10) When you have finished choosing all the characters for the first Hotel Message press

SELECT to save the message. The Millennium will also automatically save the mes-
sage when 45 characters have been selected. The LCD will display:

and increment to the next location.

The LCD will change to:

or display the first Express Service Select phone number and name.

To begin storing Express Service Select entries, see PROGRAMMING EXPRESS SER-
VICE SELECT below.

To continue entering the next Hotel Message, Press the SELECT button 3 times until the

LCD displays:

11) Continue with steps 9 and 10 until the remaining two Hotel Messages are saved. If no

additional message and no Express ServiceSelect entries are to be programmed at this
time, remove and replace the line cord from the back of the Millennium to reset the
phone for normal operation.

PROGRAMMING EXPRESS SERVICE SELECT

The Millennium has the ability to display up to 100 phone numbers/extensions and names
in the Express Service Select electronic phone book. Each phone number can be up to 15
digits and each name can be up to 15 characters.

These phone numbers are in addition to the ten GUEST SERVICE KEYS, but it is recom-
mended that the Guest Service Key amenities also be entered into this electronic phone
book.

1) If you have just completed programming Hotel Messages and the LCD display is

showing:

skip to step 9.

If the Millennium is in normal operating mode, power off the Millennium by unplugging
the line cord from the back of the phone.

2) Press and hold the SELECT button next to the LCD display.

3) Restore power to the Millennium by reinserting the line cord.

4) Continue pressing the SELECT button until the LCD displays:
