Installing the Device Driver
Before you continue, ensure that you have:
❏ Reviewed About Wireless Technology and LANs on page 42 for a
basic overview of WLANs.
❏ Installed the Wireless USB Adapter. See page 4 .
The next step on the Installation Task List ( page 3 ) is to install the
device driver. A device driver is a software program that lets your
adapter communicate with your computer.
To install the device driver, follow the instructions for your
operating system:
■ For Windows XP, see page 7 .
■ For Windows 2000, see page 9 .
■ For Windows Me, see page 12 .
■ For Windows 98SE, see page 14 .
