DISASSEMBLY

1. Place vehicle in a location where the floor is solid and flat, with adequate lighting. Do not attempt to work on
a hot engine. Heat causes metal to expand and makes removal of fasteners difficult at best.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
3. If a lift is not available, raise the front of the vehicle 2 feet or higher to obtain adequate access to the bot-
tom exhaust manifold flanges. Use large-base jack stands to support the vehicle. Do not rely on the jack!
Block the tires to prevent the vehicle from rolling off the jack stands.
4. Apply penetrating oil on all accessible fasteners and fittings before attempting to remove them
5. Remove the stock exhaust from the truck. It may be easier to cut the stock tailpipe where it goes over the axle
to facilitate removal
6. Unbolt the factory exhaust from the Y pipe at the two bolt clamp in front of the muffler.

7. Cut the inlet pipe that goes into the muffler at a distance of 6” from the end of the pipe.
8. Re bolt the cut pipe and stock flange to the factory Y Pipe.
9. Slip the JBA Muffler and 3”U Bolt Clamp over the cut portion of the pipe. Snug, but do not tighten.

10. Slide one 3” U Clamp over the left side outlet of the muffler.
11. Slide the 3” U Bolt clamp with attached hanger over the right side outlet and insert the hanger into the stock
rubber muffler hanger.
12. Slip the twin tailpipe assembly into the muffler outlets.
13. Install the 3/8-16X1 1/2” hex bolt with a washer through the hole in the rear spring eye bracket.
14. Install the rubber isolator onto the welded hangar bracket on the tail pipe. Then slip the isolator over the 3/8
bolt and secure using the fender washer and 3/8-16 nut.
