Installing
Installing applications on a “Memory Stick” media
The applications can be installed on “Memory Stick” media by the following
methods.
• Install an application directly into “Memory Stick” media from your
computer using the Memory Stick Import/Memory Stick Export application.
• After step 5 of “Installing from your computer,” click Changing the
installation destination . Select the application and click either >> or <<
to specify “Memory Stick” media for the location to save the application.
Notes on installing applications on “Memory Stick” media:
In some applications, related files such as image files or movie files cannot be
opened (played back).
In the procedure mentioned above, select “Memory Stick” media and install the
data or application onto the “Memory Stick” media by a HotSync
®
operation.
They are installed in /PALM/Launcher folder. Some Sony applications only
support data in the designated folder. The data installed in /PALM/Launcher
folder in a “Memory Stick” media by a HotSync
®
operation cannot be
displayed in those applications.
In this case, delete those data or applications from the “Memory Stick” media
with the CLIE Files application.
Installing from the Internet
You can download applications from the CLIÉ website
(http://www.sony.com/clie/) and install them in your CLIÉ handheld.

Download the applications you want to install in your
computer, from the Internet.

Follow the instructions including readme files to install the
downloaded application in your CLIÉ handheld.
If there are no specific instructions, double-click the downloaded PRC
format (.prc) file and perform step 6 through 8 of “Installing from your
computer” on page 175.
