Connect an external microphone
or other equipment to the 
(microphone) jack when the IC
recorder is in the stop mode.
The built-in microphones are
automatically cut off.
When a plug in power type
microphone is connected, power
is automatically supplied to the
microphone from the IC recorder.

Select a folder in which you want to
record messages.
For details, see “Selecting a Folder”
(page 24).

Start recording by pressing  REC/
PAUSE.

Press  (stop) to stop recording.
