To select an Original Image Type setting

Touch [Scan Setting] on the Fax Mode
Screen.
The Scan Settings Screen will be displayed.
Text/Photo Select this setting when scanning originals
consisting of both text and photos
(halftones). This setting should be selected if
text and photos are combined in a single
page or if the original contains a combination
of text pages and photo pages.
Photo Select this setting when scanning originals
consisting of only photos (halftones).
Dot Matrix Select this setting when scanning originals
with faint text (such as that written in pencil).
