2.6 Selecting the quality of the original
The original quality can be specified.
The following Original Type settings are available.
The following procedure describes how to select an
Original Type setting.
To specify an Original Type setting
Select the setting for the image type of the original to
better adjust the copy quality.

Position the original to be copied.
– For details on positioning the original, refer to
“Feeding the original” on page 1-15.
Setting Description
Text Select this setting for originals consisting
only of text.
Text/Photo Select this setting for originals consisting of
both text and photos (halftones).
Photo Select this setting for originals consisting of
only photos (halftones).
Dot Matrix Select this setting for originals consisting of
text that generally appears faint.
