TIPS

• Often bright subjects (such as snow) will turn out darker than their

natural colors. Adjusting toward + makes these subjects closer to
their real shades. For the same reason, adjust toward - when
shooting dark subjects.

• Pressing

when the monitor is

turned on and HISTOGRAM is set to

ON displays the histogram on the

monitor.

• If you press

while holding down

, the screen for setting the

histogram display will appear. You can
turn the histogram display on and off
from this screen.

“Histogram

display” (P.144)

• You can change the position of the

histogram target mark.

“Changing the position of the

histogram target mark” (P.146)

• The histogram cannot be displayed in

mode.

• You can set the aperture by turning the jog dial while holding down

in M mode.

“Manual shooting” (P.93)

• If the flash is used, the image brightness (exposure) may differ from

the intended brightness.

• Exposure compensation cannot correct the image if the

surroundings of the subject are extremely bright or dark.
