Basic camera operations

It is possible to use the LCD monitor as a viewfinder. You can view the exposure or white
balance effect and the subject’s composition while you take the picture.
Close the eyepiece shutter so the light entering through the viewfinder does not affect the
exposure while shooting with live view.

shutter is displayed.

Focusing during live view

• When you press the shutter button all the way

during live view, the focus is locked and a picture
is taken. The image display on the monitor
freezes as the mirror goes down during focusing.

• To focus in advance, hold down the

AEL/AFL

button and press the shutter button. When the
focus is locked, the AF confirmation mark lights
up. When the AF confirmation mark is blinking,
the focus is not locked.

• When the AF mode is set to S-AF, the picture

cannot be taken until the focus is locked.

• In MF mode, you can press the

AEL/AFL button

to activate the auto focus.

Shooting while changing the angle of the LCD monitor

You can change the angle of the LCD monitor on
the camera. This enables you to shoot at an
awkward angle while checking the subject’s
composition on the LCD monitor.
• Slowly rotate the LCD monitor within the

moveable range.
