Sewing a curve with a zigzag stitch

Set the stitch length short in order to obtain a fine stitch. Sew
slowly while keeping the seam parallel to the fabric edge as you
guide the fabric around the curve.

For sharp corners, temporarily stop sewing with the needle in
the material, then raise the presser foot and carefully turn the
fabric while keeping it level with the presser foot. Lower the
presser foot and continue sewing.

Sewing corners

Stop the sewing machine with the needle in the fabric at the cor-
ner, then raise the presser foot and turn the fabric.

Sewing curves

Sewing a curve with a straight stitch

Sew slowly while keeping the seam parallel to the fabric edge as
you guide the fabric around the curve.

When sewing seams which are less than 5.0 mm (13/64" in width),
baste the corner, then continue sewing while slowly changing the
sewing direction and pulling the basting thread toward the rear of
the machine.
