• Disc-to-disc, write on the fly, and high-speed recordings are more likely to have data transfer
errors. Record at a lower speed to avoid errors. “Write on the fly” recordings are made when the
data is read from the CD-ROM directly as it is copied on the CD-ReWriter. Such recordings are
more sensitive and prone to errors.
• Recording material copied to a folder on the hard drive of your PC can greatly increase your rate of
success.
• Until you are comfortable making recordings, use CD-ReWritables, which are reusable. If you
make a mistake, you can redo the recording without wasting a disc. After you record successfully
to a CD-ReWritable, repeat the recording on a CD-Recordable. Whenever a project may have a
questionable outcome, make the first attempt on a CD-ReWritable.
• Make sure the total size of the recording is less than the capacity of the disc and the drive you are
using. If you have a 74 minute/650MB disc, make sure the recording is within those limits. If your
drive supports other disc sizes, such as 80 minute/700MB, stay within those limits.
