Check the configuration of your PC.
Enhanced IDE compatible computers
normally have two IDE interface ports, a
primary one and a secondary one.
Each IDE interface port allows a maxi-
mum of two IDE devices for a total of
four. Normally, a hard disk is connected
to the primary port, and the CD-
ROM/CD drive is connected to the sec-
ondary port. Do not connect the CD-
ReWriter to the same primary port as the
hard disk.
To take full advantage of the system’s
performance, connect the CD-ReWriter
alone as the Master to the secondary port.
Important: When the CD-ReWriter
arrives from the factory, this setting is in
the Master position. To change this set-
ting, use long nose pliers to remove or
insert the jumper pin.
