Electrostatic discharge
Electronic components of the communication module can be damaged or
destroyed through electrostatic discharge.
Possible consequences:
ƒ
The communication module is damaged.
ƒ
Fieldbus communication is not possible or faulty.
Protective measures
ƒ
Discharge electrostatic charges before touching the module.
ƒ During operation, the communication module must be securely connected to the
standard device.
ƒ With external voltage supply, always use a separate power supply unit, safely
separated in accordance with EN 61800−5−1 in every control cabinet (SELV/PELV).
ƒ Only use cables that meet the given specifications. (
