Site Preparation

This section describes the physical, electrical, and mechanical requirements that
must be considered before installing the MTS Criterion Test System. Read the
following subsections thoroughly to identify installation considerations that
apply to your facility.

Preparing to Receive the System

Prior to receiving the system, ensure suitable rigging equipment is available for
lifting and transporting the system components. The major components of the
system consist of the load unit and the PC cabinet/desk. For more information,
see

“System Specifications”

section on page 17.

Space Requirements

Consideration must be given to planning the space requirements around the
equipment for loading specimens and for the proper maintenance of the
equipment. Also, during installation of the equipment, additional space (floor
space and ceiling height) might be required to facilitate moving the various
system components into place. The following illustration shows a typical
configuration for a system laboratory plan allowing for relative placement of the
test machine controls and mechanical components for convenient use. This is
only a suggestion of how an MTS Criterion Test System could be installed. Your
requirements should be considered and planned accordingly.
