NOTE

Before learning the IR codes, you must configure one or more PAN6400 VDCs and
you need the Panorama remote as well as the remotes for all of your sources and
displays. Each remote should have fresh batteries.

Always stand within 18
inches of the receiver
when storing IR codes.
Stay away from
fluorescent light or
ambient sunlight as both
affect data transmission.

To store IR in the NetStreams Panorama system, complete the following steps:

1.

Enter IR learning mode: point the Panorama remote at the PAN6400 VDC and
press and hold the MENU button until all three sets of LEDs on the front of the
VDC flash.

2.

Select the source or display to be learned.

a.

To learn IR codes for displays, press the up arrow button on the Panorama

remote until the Power LED changes to green.
To learn IR codes for sources, press the down arrow button on the Panorama
until the Power LED changes to red.

b.

Select the specific source or display you want to learn IR codes for by pressing

the left arrow and right arrow buttons on the Panorama remote.

After you press the
Panorama remote
button, you have 30
seconds to complete the
steps involving the
source or display
remote. IR learning
mode times out after 30
seconds of inactivity.

The Display LED on the front of the PAN6400 VDC indicates the specific
source or display you are working with. The first Source LED continues
blinking.

3.

Press the button on the Panorama remote you want to learn.
The second Source LED light comes on, indicating this step has successfully
completed.

4.

Point the source or display remote at the VDC and press the button on the source or
display remote you want to learn once.
The third Source LED light comes on, indicating this step has successfully
completed.

The exact sequence
starts with all LEDs on,
eliminates one LED at a
time from right to left
until only S1 is on, then
adds one LED at a time
from left to right.

5.

Press the same source or display button again to confirm the command.
The four Source LEDs blink in sequence, indicating this step has been successfully
completed. The PAN6400 VDC has learned the source or remote IR code and the
Panorama remote button now provides the function.
If the button presses do not match, the source and display LEDs rapidly blink five
times. Exit IR programming mode and start the process for that button again.

6.

Exit IR programming mode: Point the Panorama remote at the PAN6400 VDC and
press the MENU button.
All three sets of LEDs on the front of the VDC flash.

Test the new IR programming by pointing the Panorama remote at the VDC and
pressing the button with the new source or display function. The NetStreams
Panorama
system should replicate the action of the button from the source or display
remote.

At the headend, some PAN6400 VDC Power LEDs flash when they receive an IR
signal, depending on the firmware version. At the displays, the IR Receiver attached to
the VP700 Video Port flashes when it receives an IR signal.
