To adjust:
1.
Loosen jam nut (1) near top clevis of each gauge-
wheel turnbuckle. Refer to Figure 1-8.
2.
Bolt upper clevis in upper mount hole (2) as shown in
Figure 1-8.
3.
Set turnbuckle length. Turn turnbuckle to shorten or
lengthen as necessary. Initially set length to 17 3/16
inches (43.66 cm) between pin centers to achieve the
18 1/4-inch (46.36-cm) dimension mentioned above.
When adjusting turnbuckle, remember:
•
Lengthening turnbuckle raises drill.
•
Shortening turnbuckle lowers drill.

After adjusting both turnbuckles to same length, tight-
en jam nuts.
5.
Level drill with top three-point link. When drill is level,
the gap between the spring-rod casting and the cross
bolt will be about 2 inches (5.08 cm). See Figure 1-9.
This is a general dimension that will vary with the
amount of down pressure required for your planting
conditions.

Initially adjust drill so opener tube runs 21 inches (53.34
cm) above ground when drill is lowered in field. See Figure
1-10.

To adjust:
1.
Loosen jam nut (1) near top clevis of each gauge-
wheel turnbuckle. Refer to Figure 1-11.
NOTE: Jam nut is left-hand threaded.
2.
Bolt upper clevis in lower hole (2) as shown in Figure
1-11.
3.
Set turnbuckle length. Turn turnbuckle to shorten or
lengthen as necessary. Initially set length to 17 9/16
inches (44.61 cm) between pin centers to achieve the
21-inch (53.34-cm) dimension mention above. When
adjusting turnbuckle length, remember:
•
Lengthening turnbuckle raises drill.
•
Shortening turnbuckle lowers drill.
