Calibration
Note: For calibration procedure please check your
drills operator’s manual and the instructions be-
low.
Refer to Figure 15
1. To perform calibration on the small seeds, re-
move the spring clip pin (a) in the drive as-
sembly. Place the larger calibration crank
handle (b) over the drive assembly and follow
the procedure described in Checking the
Seeding Rate below or in the operator’s man-
ual.
2. To perform calibration on the main seed meter
drive only, remove the spring clip pin (a) from
the drive assembly. Place the smaller calibra-
tion crank handle (c) over the drive assembly
and follow the procedure described In Check-
ing the Seeding Rate below or in the opera-
tor’s manual.
Note: When drilling with the main drill box and you
do not want the small seeds drive to operate you
can pull spring clip pin (a) from the drive assembly
or you can remove the plastic guard and discon-
nect the drive chain.
Checking the Seeding Rate
The following procedure should be followed to
calibrate the drill for small seed types. Note that
the following factors may affect seeding accuracy:
• Errors in land area which are affected by
wheel slip, operator judgement and by inac-
curate knowledge of field size.
• Errors in metering which are affected by seed
treatments, seed size, variety, moisture con-
tent and seed bulk density.
To calibrate the drill, an accurate set of scales will
be required. Other equipment is supplied with the
drill and includes calibration trays and handle.
Procedure
Refer to Figure 16
1. Release the two black plastic lock screws
above each venturi unit by loosening, sliding
the knob up and re-tightening.
2. Push the left and right venturi units forward to
clear the feed units.
