Filter Replacement

Replacement of the HEPA filter requires proper training and should be performed by the
certifying agent. Once the HEPA filter is changed the S3 biosafety system must be re-certified
to ensure proper safety.

Please contact a certified biosafety service vendor when the filter life reaches 10% to schedule
replacement.

1. Completely shut down the S3 or S3e system and power off.
2. Power off the biosafety system main power unit and unplug.
3. Unplug the USB cable.

8. Check and clean the inside of the filter chamber and sterilize as needed.
9. Slide the new HEPA filter into the housing with the flow arrows pointing up.
10. Replace the upper filter housing with the sensor hose in the front.

12. Compress the filter gaskets with the four draw latches.
13. Attach the USB cable.
14. Attach the power cable and switch on.
15. Power on the S3 or S3e system and check the filter status and air speed for the

specified values.
