Accessing the PowerVault NX1950 Storage
Solution From a Client System
After configuring the network addresses for your PowerVault NX1950
storage solution, you can connect to it remotely using one of the features
listed in this section.
Windows Server Remote Administration Applet
Remote administration is supported using any of the following browsers:
• Internet Explorer
®
6 or later
• Firefox version 1.0.6 or later
• Mozilla version 1.7.11 or later
Use of Windows Server
®
Remote Administration applet is supported by
client systems running Java 2 Runtime Environment, version 1.4.2 on systems
running Windows operating system and Internet Explorer 6 (or later) browser.
The following operating systems are supported:
• Red Hat
®
Enterprise Linux
®
3 WS
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 WS
• SUSE
®
Linux Enterprise Server 9
• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
The Windows Server Remote Administration applet does not support
sound redirection, printer or port redirection, or automatically starting
applications.
To establish a browser-based connection to Windows Unified Data
Storage Server 2003, perform the following procedure:
1 Open a browser on the client system.
2 Type the network name or the network IP address of the storage server
followed by /admin (for example,
http://myStorageServer/admin
).
3 In Remote Desktop for Administration, provide the appropriate
credentials.
