7. Insert the new microprocessor into the system board connector (see

Figure 35

).

Press the processor firmly into its connector until it is fully seated.

You must use up to 25 lb of force to fully seat the processor in its connector.

8. Reconnect the heat sink fan connector, if present.

9. Rotate the processor cover back in place.

Push in on the panel of the processor cover at the uppermost rear corner to release the cover locking tab holding the processor cover in the
up position. When the cover returns into the case, make sure that the securing tab snaps into place.

10. Replace and tighten the four thumbscrews that secure the processor cover and SECC package to the system board.
11. Replace the computer cover, and reconnect your computer and peripherals to their power sources and turn them on.

As the system boots, it detects the presence of the processors and automatically changes the system configuration information in System
Setup.
