Check all cable connections, and fold cables out of the way to provide airflow for the fan and cooling vents.

Connect your computer and devices to their electrical outlets, and turn them on.

See the documentation that came with the drive for instructions on installing any software required for drive operation.

Enter system setup (see

) and select the appropriate Diskette Drive option (for a floppy drive) or a USB option (for a Media Card

Reader).

 

14.

Verify that your computer works correctly by running the Dell Diagnostics (see

Dell Diagnostics

).

 

Removing a Floppy Drive or a Media Card Reader (Desktop Computer)

3.

Remove the front panel. See

4.

Disconnect the power and data cables from the back of the floppy drive or Media Card Reader.

 

5.

Disconnect the other end of the floppy-drive cable from the system board connector labeled "FLOPPY" (for a floppy drive) or "FLEXBAY" (for a Media Card
