NOTICE:

If the cover is difficult to close, remove the module and reinstall it. Forcing

the cover to close may damage your computer.

3 Replace the module cover.
4 Insert the battery into the battery bay, or connect the AC adapter to your

computer and an electrical outlet.

5 Turn on the computer.

As the computer boots, it detects the additional memory and automatically

updates the system configuration information.
To confirm the amount of memory installed in the computer, click Start

Help and SupportDell System Information.

Removing the DIMM B Memory Module

NOTICE:

If a memory module is installed in the DIMM A connector, remove it prior

to removing the memory module from the DIMM B connector. Failure to do so could

result in damaging both memory modules.

1 Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 9.
2 Turn the computer over and loosen the four captive screws along with the

M2.5 x 5-mm screw. Remove the module cover.
