Manually set the camera shutter speed to a flash
synchronization speed or slower speed.
2. Frame the background In the camera’s viewfinder,
then turn on the camera’s exposure meter to read
proper aperture for correct background exposure,
and set the aperture on the lens.
3. Calculate the flash-to-subject distance using the
equation below and set the SB-20 at the calculated
distance.

4. Set the SB-20’s flash mode selector to M, turn on the
flash unit and take the shot.
