Audio Level Switch

Since an ALC (Automatic Level Control) circuit is

built into this camera, the sound level is automati
cally controlled for recording at the right level.

NORMAL: For normal recording.

LOW: • When making movies in noisy places, this

setting can record the sound while avoid

ing the surrounding noise (for interviews

on the streets, etc.).

• When you want to record a particularly

loud noise (such as jet planes or trains)

without distortion.

Recording from an External Audio Source (AUX)

When filming while recording sound from a tape

recorder, phonograph or TV, please use the Canon
Connecting Cord C300L for direct recording, be

cause recording with the microphone will pick up
other noises.

1. Connect the output terminal of the audio equip

ment (or line out/earphone jack) to the AUX.jack

on the camera using the Canon Connecting Cord
C300L.

2. First switch the audio equipment on, and then

depress the shutter release lever halfway to monitor

the sound.
