blinks on and off when the sound signal comes in. It
should particularly be used for monitoring when
filming close to loud noises since this is difficult to
do with an earphone. The indication stays on for a
loud sound. This sound may be distorted. If you
want to record without distortion, you should set
the Audio Level Switch to "LOW”.
Since the recording level indicator registers extra
neous noise as well, make sure to monitor normal
sound with an earphone or headphone. If you hear
excessive noise over the earphone, reposition the
microphone to obtain the best recording sound.
*Normally, monitoring is not possible unless a
sound film cartridge is loaded. If, for some reason,
you wish to monitor the sound when no cartridge is
loaded, it is possible if you press the sound
magazine coupling switch (refer to P. 46).
