98175). This Descaler contains special metal gentle additives and is matched to the com-

ponents used in our machines. Using the Gastroback Premium Descaler a mixture of 50 ml

descaler and max. 750 ml of water is recommended. Due to the differences of water hard-

ness and we can not make any precise specifications on the frequency on the decalcifying.

The following table is a non-binding recommendation and is for guidance only.

ATTenTiOn: Do not operate the appliance with completely empty water tank. Turn off the

appliance before you remove the water tank from the appliance.
1.

Press the ›on/off‹-button to turn the power off and unplug the power cord. Let the app-

liance cool down.
2.

Remove the portafilter from the grouphead and the attachment of the steam wand. Then pour

the mixture of 750 ml water and 50 ml Gastroback Premium Descaler into the water tank.
3.

Plug the power cord into the outlet and turn the appliance on by pressing the ›on/off‹-

switch. Place a pitcher or a suitable container under the grouphead and the steam wand.

Once the appliance has reached the operating temperature, the heating indicator turns off.
4.

Turn the selector switch to the right onto the espresso position and let about half of the

mixture of water and descaler run through the grouphead.
5.

Switch the black selector switch onto the hot water position.

6.

Turn the selector switch counterclockwise into the steam and hot-water position and let the

other half of the mixture of water and descaler run through the steam wand.
7.

As soon as the water level falls below the MIN mark, turn the selector switch clockwise

to center onto the standby position.
8.

Press the ›on/off‹-button to turn the aplliance off and unplug the power cord from the

outlet. Remove the water tank from the aplliance and rinse the water tank thoroughly with

clean water. Then fill the water tank with clean water again.
9.

Replace the water tank back on the aplliance and rinse the grouphead and the steam

wand following the instructions in steps 3 - 8 with clear water. Thereafter the appliance is

ready for operation.
note:

Damage caused by calcium deposits in the appliance are not part of the warranty. If

you want to send your appliance for a technical review, please do not enclose any attach-

ments such as portafilter and drip tray.
wARninG: The water tank should not be removed during descaling.
