The following list of frequently asked questions is installed on the CanogaView Smart
Element Manager Server under the Technical Support option.

4.1

What Web Server Platforms are supported?

The Enterprise Version of CanogaView Smart Element Manager supports the following
server platforms:

HP workstation running HP-UX version 11.0

Sun workstation running Sun Solaris OS version 7 (a.k.a. Solaris 2.7, SunOS 5.7)

PC workstation running Windows NT 4.0 SP4, Windows 2000 or XP.

What Web Client Platforms are supported?

Client access to the Enterprise Version can be performed on any of the following platforms:

HP-UX - Netscape Navigator 4.75 with Java Plug-In 1.3.0_01

Windows NT, 98 or 2000 - Netscape Navigator 4.06 -or- Microsoft Internet Explorer

4.0, both with Java Plug-In 1.3.0_01

Sun Solaris - Netscape Navigator 4.76 with Java Plug-In 1.3.0_01

Linux - with Java Plug-In 1.3.0_01

What is a Java Plug-In or Java Runtime Environment?

Java Plug-in software enables customers to run Java applets or on their web browser using
Sun's Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (JRE) instead of the web browser's
default virtual machine. Sun's JRE provides a Java Compatible environment for today's
widely adopted web browsers - that means consistency and reliability when running applets.

4.5 How many Web Clients are supported?

By default, the Enterprise Version is installed with a one seat user license. This license
restricts the support such that only one active client web session is allowed at a time. 10
seat and unlimited seat upgrade options are available.
