3.2 Differentially corrected positions (DGPS)

Many of the errors affecting the measure-

ment of satellite range can be com-

pletely eliminated or at least significantly

reduced using differential measurement

techniques.
DGPS allows the civilian user to in-

crease position accuracy from 100m to

2-3m or less, making it more useful for

many civilian applications.
