Care and Maintenance
Cleaning the printer
Periodic cleaning of the printer is recommended, depending on the environment in which
the printer is used.
You should clean the printer:
• At least once a month
• When you install a new toner cartridge
• When print quality starts to deteriorate

Cleaning LSU (Laser Scanning Unit)
To obtain high quality from your printer, clean the LSU when characters have the light
vertical lines running through them.
y Turn the printer off, open the top cover and remove the toner
cartridge.

Pull up on the LSU cleaner and put it on the LSU.

Slide the LSU cleaner horizontally across a track on the top of the
LSU.
