1.15 Version Tracking: Office 2010 Support

Microsoft Office 2010 is now supported in the following KCS component:

Document Converter (for links and TWS)

This version of Microsoft Office is used and configured in KCS in the same way as version 2007. However, see
also Document Converter Enhancement.

For more information see:

KCS Document ConversionTechnical Manual – Version 2.15.00 Edition 4 or higher

1.16 Document Converter Enhancement

For converting Microsoft Office documents on Windows Server 2008, it is necessary to configure a DCOM user
for the Office applications. This user can be either set to "Interactive", which makes the Document Converter run
in a test mode where you can watch the applications and troubleshot problems, or to a specific user, which makes
the Document Converter to run in productive mode without showing the applications and where no user has to
be logged on.

The new registry configuration HKLM\Software\TOPCALL\TCDCLINK\UserMode makes it possible to
automatically set the necessary DCOM user configurations for the Microsoft Office applications. The following
settings are possible:

0 – Current configuration – the DCOM user settings are not changed (for Windows versions before 2008, for
updates of previously configured systems, or for manual DCOM configurations)

1 – Test Mode - the DCOM user settings are set to "Interactive"

2 – Productive Mode - the DCOM user settings are set to the TCDCLINK user

If you modify the UserMode, consider modifying the LogonType registry value accordingly.
