16 X 9 Mode
The camcorder has a 16 X 9 recording
mode that lets you make recordings
compatible with the 16X9 format. When
16 X 9 is activated, the camcorder records
black bars at the top and bottom of the
picture to produce the wide-screen effect.
This is also known as “letterbox” recording.
New 16x9 TV Screen
Standard Shape TV Screen
Do not use this mode unless you have a compatible 16 X 9 TV.
When played on a regular TV, black bam appear in the picture.
1. Place the POWER switch in
CAMERA. The power indicator will
light. The camcorder will enter
record pause.
Make sure the AE dial is not set to
AUTO.
Repeatedly press SELECT until
► 16X9-« appears in the viewfinder.

Press SET. Black bars will appear at
the top and bottom of the picture in
the viewfinder.
To turn off 16 X 9, press SELECT to
remove the 16X9 indicator from the
viewfinder or place the AE dial
in AUTO.
