5. OUTPUTS

The HMA180 has a dual amplified output:

 Low impedance (8 ), for the connection of a speaker or set of speakers with an overall

impedance of 8

. In this case, use the 8 pin connector  (+ and -) of the SPEAKER

OUTPUT section on the rear panel

 High impedance, 70V or 100V, for the connection of a large number of speakers with

transformers/adapters for 70V or 100V, and whose total required power is not more than the
normal power supplied by the HMA180. In this case, use 0V and 70V terminals or 0V and
100V on the SPEAKER OUTPUT of the rear panel

The AUX OUT auxiliary output provides a mono signal at line level (0dBV), which replicates the

unamplified signal delivered to the SPEAKER OUTPUT terminals. Therefore, it is possible to use that
output to connect the HMA180 to one or more additional amplifiers that can serve areas with higher power
requirements.

The HMA180 also has a high pass filter with a cut-off frequency at 70Hz, ideal for optimising audio

performance in high impedance installations. Refer to the 10. CONFIGURATION DIAGRAM section for
more information on the configuration options of this function using jumpers.

6. REMOTE CONTROL PORTS

The HMA180 has a series of control inputs and outputs on its rear panel for the integration with

other devices in an installation:

 REM VOL (REMOTE VOLUME): enables the connection of a WPm series or WPTOUCH wall

control panel for remotely managing the device's output volume (mix of microphones + music
source) through a voltage of 0 – 10VDC (*). When the LOCAL / REMOTE dial is in the LOCAL
position, the volume is controlled by the OUTPUT VOLUME on the front panel. In the REMOTE
position, the volume is controlled by the device connected to the REM VOL port

 CONTROL INPUTS: activation of different functions by means of using external dry contacts. They

can either act in NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed) mode. Refer to the 10.
CONFIGURATION DIAGRAM
section for more information on the configuration options of this
function using jumpers:

o PAGE: activation of the PAGE function for sending messages from an MPAGE1 type

announcement microphone or similar connected to the PAGER input

o EMERG: activation of the EMERGENCY function for sending messages from an

announcement microphone or pre-recorded message player connected to the
EMERGENCY input

o MUTE: mute activation of the whole device

(*) NOTE: a maximum of 16 ports may be connected in parallel to the same control
potentiometer, which means all of the grounding points must be joined. The connection cables
can be up to 500 m in length with a cross-section of 0.5 mm

or more.
