7. CONSIDERATIONS

7.1. Switching on the unit

This is done directly by using the front ON / OFF switch. In a full audio installation it is essential to

start up the equipment in the following sequence: sound sources, mixer, equalizers, processors and,
finally, power amplifiers. To shut these down, follow the reverse sequence.

7.2. Gain adjustments, levels and indicators

Adjust the input gain level on each signal by using the ADJ control on the rear panel. Next, adjust

the mix volume between the input channels using their respective LEVEL controls on the front panel, and
the overall output volume using the VOLUME control on the OUTPUT section. The -40dB indicator will light
up when the signals are sufficiently strong to be considered as audible, lighting up with greater intensity
when their level increases. The CLIP indicator will begin to light up if the mix is high enough to be close to
the device's saturation point.

It is normal that when operating at high output power, the CLIP indicators light up in

synchronisation with the bass frequencies, which carry the most energy. Make sure that these indicators
do not remain permanently lit.

7.3. Equalization

The TONE CONTROL of the different inputs provides a gain / attenuation of ±15dB for each of the

following bands:

 BASS: 100Hz ±15dB

 MID: 1.8kHz ±15dB

 TREBLE: 10kHz ±15dB

Given the device's philosophy of use, it includes a tone control system that requires adjustment with

a screwdriver, thus preventing the manipulation of it accidentally during the normal use of the unit.

7.4. Ground loops, background noise

You must make sure at all times that the signal sources connected to the unit do not have

interconnected grounds, i.e. that the grounding never reaches them through two or more different paths, as
this can produce humming which may interfere with the quality of the audio production.

The cable shielding, being connected to the chassis, must never be interlinked to avoid the

formation of ground loops.

7.5. Cleaning

The front panel should not be cleaned with solvents or abrasive substances because the silk

printing could be damaged. To clean it, use a slightly damp soft cloth, dampened with water and neutral
liquid soap; dry it with a clean cloth. Make sure that water never gets into the amplifier through the holes on
the front panel.
