– unloading

removing cartridges from the magazine does not
prevent the pistol from being fired! When there
is a cartridge in the chamber, the cartridge will
discharge if the trigger is pulled. it is absolutely
essential for the user to know how to completely
unload the pistol. “completely” means emptying
the magazine and removing a chambered
cartridge.

Related to gRiPPing the Pistol

The light weight design of the P238 and P938 can amplify malfunctions related
to light grip or limp wristing. under recoil the mass of the frame combined with
a firm grip holds the frame in place while the slide cycles. a light grip allows
the frame to move to the rear at the same that the pistols slide is cycling. The
movement of the frame while the slide cycles can cause the pistol to malfunction.
a firm grip should be used when firing light weight high energy pistols such as the
P238 and P938 pistols.
