will eat just about anything, includ-

ing fruit, grasses, various insects, and

even carrion.

Range:

Resident throughout much

of the eastern U.S. except New

England.

Coyotes run

with their tails down; domestic dogs

run with their tails up. Coyotes can

run up to 40 mph.
