Four-Step buttonholing
The four dial settings for buttonholing are
located on the stftch length selector. As you
turn the dial each step, your machine is
automatically set for the correct needle
position, stitch width, and stitch length, as
well as for stitching direction for that step.
You need not turn the fabric during
buttonholing.

Preparation
• Prepare and mark your garment, as
instructed on page 64.
• Position work under needle, aligning
centre marking of buttonhole with center
line on the foot. Align end marking of
buttonhole with the horizontal lines on
the foot.
• Set the buttonhole balance knob K in
neutral position, as ilustrated. The
buttonhole balance Knob, when turned
slightly to the right or left, enables you to
balance the stitch density of both sides of
the buttonhole. Refer to the next page for
information on balancing buttonhole
stitch density.
Step 1: Side Stitching
Raise needle above the fabric and turn the
buttonhole dial to step 1. Position needle in
fabric at point A. Lower the foot and stitch to
end of buttonhole (point B). The end
marking should be aligned with the
horizontal lines on the foot.
Step 2: Bar Tack
Raise the needle out of the fabric. Turn
buttonhole dial to step 2 and take at least
four stitches. Stop at point C.
Step 3: Side Stitching
Raise the needle out of the fabric. Turn
buttonhole dial to step 3. Complete work to
point D. Raise needle.
Step 4: Bar Tack
Raise the needle out|of the fabric and turn
buttonhole dial to step 4. Take at least four
stitches ending at point E. For a smooth,
satin appearance and greater durability,
stitch around the buttonhole a second time
by repeating the four-step sequence.
Ojales a cuatro pasos
Las cuatro posiciones para la secuencia del
ojal están ubicadas en la mitad opuesta del
dial del largo de puntada. Al girar el dial
para cada paso, su máquina se ajusta
automaticamente para la correcta posición
de la aguja, ancho y largo del punto, asi
como para la direclón. Ud, no necesita girar
la tela al hacer ojales.

Preparación
• Prepare las marcas en la prenda
conforme las instrucciones en la página 64.
• Ubique la labor bajo el prénsatelas con
la marca central del ojal en línea con la
marca central del prénsatelas. Alinee el
extremo marcado del ojal con las marcas
horizontales del prénsatelas.
• Ajuste el botón de retroceso K en la
posición neutral. Ajuste si es necesário
para Igualar la diferencia en la densidad
de los festones derecho y izquerdo del
ojal. Para instrucciones vea la próxima
página.
Paso 1: Lateral Derecha
Eleve la aguja y gire el dial al paso 1.
Clave la aguja en el punto A. Baje el
prénsatelas y cosa hasta el punto B.
Paso 2: Presilla
Eleve la aguja y gire el dial al paso 2.
Haga cuatro o cinco puntadas hasta al
punto C.
Paso 3: Lateral Izquierda
Eleve la aguja y gire el dial al paso 3.
Cosa hasta el punto D, sin llegar al extremo
del ojal.
Paso 4: Presilla
Eleve la aguja y gire el dial al paso 4.
Haga cuatro o cinco puntadas hasta el punto
-E. Para una suave apariencia y mayor
durabilidad, cosa por segunda vez alrededor
del ojal, repetiendo los cuatro pasos.
