A CAUTION

KNOW THE LOCATION AND FUNCTION OF

ALL CONTROLS BEFORE OPERATING

UNIT. KNOW HOW TO STOP ENGINE AND

AHACHMENTS QUICKLY IN CASE OF

EMERGENCY.

(A, Fig. 4-1)—Ignition / Starter Switch
Note: Always remove ignition key

whenever unit is unattended to prevent

children or unauthorized persons from
starting unit.

Controls power to main systems. An
automotive-type, three-position switch:

Stops engine.

Starts engine. Release when engine
starts.

After starting, key returns to this
position.

Note: Battery will discharge (and hour
meter will run) if ignition switch is on

when engine is not running.

[ffl (B)—Choke Lever

Reguiates fuel-air mixture to engine. Ciose
choke (move lever up) when starting a
cold engine. As engine warms up, open
choke (move lever down). A warm engine
requires little or no choking.

(C)—Throttle Lever

Controls engine speed. Always run engine
at full throttle.
Note: Engine lubrication and cooiing
systems operate best at foil throttle.

Operating engine at tess than fuit throttte
for extended periods can effect

performance of this system. Low throttte

settings can also discharge battery.

(0)—Attachment/PTO Drive Switch

Controls power to attachments. Press top
of switch to engage, press bottom to
disengage.

(E)—PTO Indicator Light

Lights up when attachment/PTO drive is
engaged.

(F) —Hour Meter [Optional—standard on
models 13096,13097,13099]
Registers hours of use. Activates when the
engine is running or when the ignition
switch is on.

(G) —Ammeter [Optional—standard on
model 13099]
Measures battery charge. Activates when
engine is running.

(H)—Safety Start Indicator Light

Unit will not run when this light is on. For

a more detailed description of the safety

interlock system, see ’’Interlock System

Test Procedure,” Section 5 “Operation”.

(J) —Cruise Controi Switch

[Standard on modei 13099]

Activates/deactivates cruise control.

Cruise control automatically maintains
constant travel speed. See “Cruise Control"
in Section 5 “Operation” for operating
instructions.

(K)—Cruise indicator Light

[Standard on modei 13099]
Lights when cruise control is activated.
