selected disk drive. The total disk capacity will appear under the icon on the far right.

Set the partitioning. When you are using a large disk, such as a hard disk, it is easier to
manage files by dividing the disk into partitions which are then named in alphabetical
order. The

Partition size=

field will display the size of each partition set in the

Parts:

field.

When A-A is selected in the

Parts:

field, the disk will not be partitioned. When A-D is

selected in the

Parts:

field, the disk will be divided into four partitions: A, B, C, and D.

The disk space will be equally divided.

Note: If a partitioned disk is connected to a PC, the partition data may be destroyed,

preventing data retrieval.

Press

DO IT

[F5] to format.

If a disk such as a CD-ROM (which cannot be written to) is selected in the

will appear, and the disk will not be formatted.

Note: The MPC2000XL is not compatible with the 1024K (or larger) sector sized MO

disks.
