Chapter 4: Using Your Freeze Dryer

• To reset the SERVICE HOUR to 0, press SELECT.
• The display will show:
• If you want to reset the service hours to 0, continue to hold
SELECT five seconds until hours are reset.
Automatic Start-Up
Turn the MAIN POWER switch ON. The refrigeration system
will start and the LCD display will illuminate and read:
If the Freeze Dryer was configured in the set up steps above to run
AUTO, the vacuum pump will automatically start when the
collector temperature reaches –40°C. At that point the display will
read:
The LCD display will show the actual temperature of the collector.
When the vacuum in the system is above 5 mBar, the vacuum
display will indicate “HI.” At 5 mBar and below, the LCD display
will show a value for the actual vacuum.
Vacuum readings at high values are intended to be used solely as
an indication of how the vacuum system is operating. The vacuum
sensor is calibrated at the low end of the normal freeze drying
range.
