3. Write-Protection Information

This section applies only to ToughTech models with WriteLock or WriteProtect.

3.1 Enabling write-protection in WriteLock and WriteProtect models

“Protect” in WriteProtect models, and “Lock” in WriteLock models).
While continuing to hold down the button, provide power to the unit.

encryption key must be inserted for the LED to light.)

on the drive cannot be deleted or altered.

the LED to switch off.) The unit is now in read/write mode.

With WriteLock, you can prevent the data on ToughTech from being altered when ToughTech
changes hands.
By adding evidence tape over ToughTech’s chassis screws, you’ll be able to tell if the
unit has been opened. Thus, you’ll know if the write-protect mode could have been changed while
ToughTech was in another person’s possession.
