4.5.1 General Features
The main features of the on-board FPGA are the following:
 Local bus interface
 Local bus decoder
 IPMI Block Transfer Interface between host and IPMC
 Interrupt routing logic
 Reset controller
 Glue logic
 JTAG interface
 SPI interface
 Telecom clocking support
 COM port routing
 Watchdog
During initialization, the FPGA loads its bit stream from one out of two serial PROMs connected
to the FPGA. One serial PROM acts as stand-by, the other as active device. During blade
production, both serial PROMs are programmed with identical images. You can switch
between active and stand-by serial PROM via an IPMI command. For details refer to the ATCA-

4.5.2 Watchdog
The FPGA contains a watchdog which is enabled by default.
