Charging the
battery

Plug in charger mains plug

Set desired mode using Info button

Set ampere-hours of battery to be charged using Up/Down buttons, e.g.:

Connect terminals to battery - the de-energised charging terminals means there are
no sparks when connecting the battery, even if the charger is connected to the
mains supply.
- Connect (+) charging terminal to positive pole on battery
- Connect (-) charging terminal to negative pole on the battery, or to vehicle body

(away from the battery and fuel line, e.g. to the engine block) in the case of vehicle
electrical systems.

Charger recognises the type of battery:

Example: 12 V battery detected

Important! If the battery voltage displayed does not correspond to the actual volta-
ge:
- and charging has already begun, press the Start/Stop button twice
- Set correct battery voltage using Up and/or Down buttons and hold Up (or Down)

button down until charging begins

Important! If battery voltage is < 2 V, the battery will not be detected automatically.
See section entitled „Charging a deep-discharge battery“

Caution! Risk of damage when attempting to charge a faulty battery. Before
charging, ensure that the battery to be charged is fully functional.

Service charging

Important! The charger switches over to conservation charging after approx. 1-7 hours,
depending on the type of battery. The battery must be connected to the charger for this
length of time to be fully charged.

When the battery is fully charged, the charger begins conservation charging.
