Utilisation in
accordance with
„intended purpo-
se“ Depending on the position of the selector switch, the charger is intended exclusively for
charging the following types of battery.
“Wet” mode:
For charging liquid (Pb, Ca, Ca silver) or fixed (GEL, AGM, MF, sealant) electrolyte
batteries that are used in starter or traction applications.
„Gel“ mode:
For charging liquid (Pb, Ca, Ca silver) or fixed (GEL, AGM, MF, sealant) electrolyte
batteries that are used in standby applications (e.g. emergency power systems) or at
temperatures above 35°C (95° F).
Important! Do not charge dry batteries, primary cells or non-rechargeable batteries with
this charger.
General remarks
Safety
CAUTION! Setting the mode incorrectly can result in product damage and
poor charging performance. Always set the mode according to the type of
battery to be charged.
WARNING! Risk of injury and damage from exposed, rotating vehicle parts.
When working in the vehicle’s engine compartment, take care that hands,
hair, items of clothing and charger leads do not come into contact with moving
parts, e.g. fan belt, fan, etc.
The charger is fitted with the following protection devices for safe handling:

No sparks when clamping onto battery due to de-energised charging terminals
- Protection against short-circuiting of charging terminals/polarity reversal
- Protection against thermal overload of the charger
- Protection against incorrect voltage selection
- Option for protection against undesired starting
NOTE! No protection from polarity reversal in the case of a deep-discharge
battery. If the battery voltage is too low (less than 2.0 V), the charger cannot
detect whether the battery is connected or not. Before starting charging manual-
ly, check that the charging terminals are connected to the correct poles.
