ATTENTION: Do not attempt to move the variable speed le-

back to the higher speed position after turning the engine
on.

The Mulching System
In addition to working with the traditional bagging system,
you can use your lawn mower with the mulching system.
With this system, the blade chops up the cut grass finely and
spreads it on the lawn uniformly with no need to collect it.
NOTE: For a healthier lawn, it is advisable to cut just 1/3 of
the grass height at a time and to select a lower speed.
ATTENTION: Always stop the engine before performing the
following operation.
For an easier installation/removal of the plug, it is recom-
mended to clean the underside of the mower deck from any
grass clippings before performing this operation (please refer
to the corresponding section of this manual).

Installation (Fig. 11)
1. Remove the grassbag from the mower.
2. Firmly grab the plug rear handle with one hand as indicated.

4. Insert the front edge of the plug into the mower discharge
tunnel.

hooking lever towards the ground and push the plug into the
mower until the reference tabs contact the deck.
NOTE: Familiarize yourself with the installation and the re-
moval of the Mulching plug to make sure this is always cor-
rectly used. An improper installation can in fact put the plug
into contact with the cutting blade.

Before operation, clear the cutting area of all foreign objects
(fig. 6).

under the deck (fig. 8).
The grass clippings may be collected in the grassbag or dis-
charged on the lawn (Mulching).
The grassbag material is capable of stopping most forms of
debris (stones, gravel, etc.) which could be thrown out by the
blade. lt is essential that the grassbag is checked periodically
for damage or wear, in which case it should be replaced Im-
mediately with an original IBEA grassbag.
While operating with your lawnmower, it may happen that the
