– Instructions for Cartridge Materials
Loading the Cartridge Dispenser
(These instructions are written for use with the Virtual Manual Dispenser.
See separate instructions for use if using the Virtual Automatic Dispenser.)
1. Press the black release lever located below the plunger on the back of the dispenser and
pull plunger as far back as possible.
(Fig. 1)
2. Lift the cartridge lock and insert the cartridge with the ”V” shape on the cartridge base
turned downwards. Lower the cartridge lock.
(Fig. 2)
3. Once the cartridge is secure in the dispenser, remove the cartridge cap by turning it a
1/4 turn counter clockwise. Discard the cap.
(Fig. 3)
4. It is VERY IMPORTANT to clear or bleed the cartridge PRIOR to applying the mixing tip.
This will assure a proper mix and set time. Gently press on the dispenser lever until both
components (base and catalyst) begin to flow out of the cartridge evenly onto a mixing pad.
5. Select the appropriate mixing tip:
a. The large mixing tips (BLUE colored base) are recommended for Heavy Body and
Monophase impression materials
b. The small mixing tips (YELLOW colored base) are recommended for Extra-Light Body,
Light Body and Medium Body impression materials
(The color of the mixing tip base and the color of the cartridge cap are identical)
Insert the mixing tips in a clean motion so that the “V“ shaped notch on the colored base is
aligned with the “V“ shaped notch on the housing of the cartridge. While gripping the
colored base, and not the mixing tip, turn the mixing tip base 1/4 turn clockwise.
(Fig. 4)
6. If necessary apply an intra-oral tip to the mixing tip
(Fig. 5)
:
a. The large intra-oral tips (CLEAR) are to be used with the large mixing tips (BLUE base)
b. The small intra-oral tips (YELLOW) are to be used with the small mixing tips (YELLOW
base)
7. Begin mixing by pressing gently on the lever of the dispenser.
Removing the cartridge
1. Lift the release lever to pull slide back. Lift the cartridge lock and remove cartridge.
2. Leave the mixing tip on the cartridge. The material will polymerize within the mixing tip,
functioning as a natural cap.
– Pre-Treatment of Impression Trays (Tray Adhesives)
It is highly recommended that a tray adhesive (eg: Virtual Tray Adhesive) be used to reduce the
chance of distortion when removing impressions from the mouth.
