Surround

This unit is equipped with a digital signal processing circuit that lets you play program sources in the surround mode to achieve the same sense of presence as in a movie theater.

Surround modes and surround parameters

This table shows the speakers that can be used in each surround mode and the surround parameters adjustable in each surround mode.

Symbols in the table

This indicates the audio output channels or surround parameters that can be set.

D

This indicates the audio output channels. The output channels depend on the settings of “Speaker Config.” (vpage 49).

1 A signal for each channel contained in an input signal is output as audio.

2 If “Surround Parameter” – “Front Height” (vpage 45) is set to “ON”, sound is output from the front height speakers.

3 Only when “Subwoofer Mode” is set to “LFE+Main” (vpage 50), sound is output from the subwoofer.

4 If this surround mode is selected, only the “Height” mode setting is available for “Surround Parameter” – “Mode” (vpage 44).

5 For HD Audio whose sampling frequency of an input signal is more than 96kHz, this sound parameter cannot be set.

6 This item can be selected when “Surround Parameter” – “Mode” (vpage 44) is set to “Cinema”.

7 This item can be selected when “Surround Parameter” – “Mode” (vpage 44) is set to “Cinema” or “Pro Logic”.

9 This item can be selected when a Dolby TrueHD signal is played.
